BEING SELECT PASSAGES FOR TRANSLATION INTO LATIN AND GREEK PROSE ARRANGED AND EDITED BY THE REV. HUBERT ASHTON HOLDEN M.A. HEAD MASTER OF QUEEN ELIZABETH'S SCHOOL IPSWICH SOMETIME FELLOW AND ASSISTANT TUTOR OF TRINITY COLLEGE CAMBRIDGE Second Edition CAMBRIDGE DEIGHTON BELL AND CO LONDON BELL AND DALDY 1858 Adr. Bil ADVERTISEMENT. THE present Edition differs from the former in containing a much greater number of passages for translation : almost one half of the entire selection being new. An arrangement of the pieces according to their respective difficulty was attempted but abandoned for several reasons, partly because it was impossible to carry out such a plan satisfactorily, partly because the book would have been so transformed as to render reference to it inconvenient for those Masters of Schools and Tutors who have been accustomed to the use of the former Edition.
