At a meeting of the Centennial Executive Committee, held August 15, 1878, the Committee on Publication reported "that the Official Record of Foxborough's Centennial Celebration, containing a full and complete record of the proceedings of the day, together with verbatim reports of each of the speeches, sentiments, responses, etc., be compiled and published by the Clerk of this Committee."
